The Bulldog Bash 2008 is going ahead - Licence Confirmed Europe?s motorcycling community today celebrates a vote for biker?s rights to freedom of expression, as the Bulldog Bash 2008 is given the go-ahead by the authorities thanks to overwhelming support from Stratford-upon-Avon?s local community. HAMC Member and spokesman for the Bulldog Bash, Echo, commented ?We are delighted to confirm that the council has today granted the licence for this year?s Bulldog Bash. We are grateful that the council has carefully considered all parties opinions, including the objections from the police; and decided that based on the shows previous safety record and our current plans, the event should continue to go-ahead. We also recognise that the police have a duty of care to express any concerns they may have about safety and public order.? The spokesman continued ?The Bulldog Bash team is and always has worked with the police to ensure the event is safe and secure. The Bulldog Bash organisation, under the guidance and control of Stratford Council, has always worked within the licensing regulations and the law. The Bulldog Bash organisation has been praised publicly in the past for its safety record by both the council and the police. We hope the police will now honour and accept the council?s decision and work with us to make the 22nd Bulldog Bash a continuing success. Visitors to the Bulldog Bash bring a huge economic boost to the local area and the organisers work hand in hand with local charities such as the Stratford Rotary Club; who have raised in excess of £100,000 from the show?s staff and visitors. Monies raised from 2007?s event lead to the donation of 8 refugee survival shelters, which can be deployed anywhere in the world. 2008?s event will be vigorously supporting our servicemen and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan by raising funds for the Help for Heroes campaign, one of the chosen charities this year.?
